Hi Autumn, c’mon in I’ve been waiting for you.

Author: mvobsession

I'm married, I have two daughters and two grandchildren and they all love MV. Enjoy my MV blog and contact me if I can answer any questions. This blog started out as strictly about Martha's Vineyard but over the years I've branched out to include other obsessions and interests. I enjoy photography and like sharing my photos here as well. Hope you enjoy :)

  1. i love spring….but i think fall is my favorite time of year…..the leaves are changing colors….the mornings are cool and crisp (perfect dog walking weather!!)…..and the air just *smells* perfect…..i love to bake, and when it starts cooling down, it’s the time to…as my daughter puts it….make the house smell like mom!!!!!

and i tried the bread recipe you posted….daggetts inn…..first time baking bread for me!!!!! hey, as a truckdriver… time to make bread….anyway it came out yummy!!!! i made a few mistakes, but the bread was pretty forgiving, and next time i’m going to try adding some nuts & seeds to it…. sort of my own twist right!!!!!

love these joan!!!! thanks for sending me!!!!!! i’ll bet fall up there is amazing… down here too….never knew what i was missing when i lived out west… oregon & washington we had forest…..pine/evergreens…. in georgia we have *woods*…..all different kinds of trees that lose their leaves….. i live in *leaf-watcher* territory and i love it!!!!!!!

    • Autumn is definitely my favorite season, I know, it’s what follows that a lot of people focus on but I say…enjoy the beauty whilst it lasts. I also love pumpkins, dots of orange all over the place make me smile, it really is a happy color. We are not having fall temps though, summer is hanging on by its teeth and the last few days have been hot and humid. The pumpkins are not liking it at all. I can’t wait to wear my turtlenecks and sweaters… drink hot cider…and not be sticky hot.

The grape nut bread is amazing isn’t it… yay to you for trying the recipe… doesn’t it make amazing toast. When my daughter and I stayed at the Daggett House our room was right above the kitchen, every morning around 5am the smell of baking bread woke us up.

A lot of people travel to New England, Vermont especially for leaf peeping..but I have to tell you, NJ and NY are spectacular also. The area of NJ I live in is in the northwest part of the state… mountains, forests, old colonial towns… George Washington not only slept in Morris County but spent the winter of 1777 here with his troups. We’re chock full of history and beauty and I really hate the bad press this beautiful Garden State gets…that’s one of the reasons I started

My house smells like spaghetti sauce and apple pie… interesting blend 🙂
