My first charm bracelet was given to me by my parents when I was in my 20’s. NJ and MA are for the states closest to my heart. The telephone because apparently I was on it a lot. Bowling pin and ball for the only ‘sport’ I actively participated in. The typewriter because I worked as a typist in a bank. The seahorse and shell with pearl were for my love of the ocean. Look closely at the charm next to the seahorse…it’s a Social Security charm and actually had my SS# on the back…what were my parents thinking, we know now to keep that number hidden away in an undisclosed location.
This bracelet was started by a friend when I was maid of honor in her wedding. Later charms were added when I turned 21… got married… and then had two little girls.
This is my travel bracelet, a nice way to remember places I visited. Disney World, CA, Alaska, New Orleans (that’s the blue mask), Monticello, Canada, and London England to name a few. There’s also the Rotterdam for the first cruise I took.
And of course a Martha’s Vineyard bracelet… you knew there’d be at least one right 🙂 Infact if you look closely at two of the other bracelets there are Vineyard charms on them too.
