MV Obsession

My obsession with Martha's Vineyard.. phototography..genealogy and life in general and this and that…

A Field Trip …

“C’mon everyone” said Dad, “we’re going to the Field Gallery in W Tisbury.”

“But Dad” protested Scotty and Becky, “that will be boring and besides we’re  so hungry we feel like we have  holes where our tummies should be.”

“Don’t worry kids” said Mom “we’ll get something to eat and then go to the gallery.  You’ve never seen anything like it and I promise you you’re going to have fun.”

“Hey” squealed Becky, “this is cool.  Look at the neat statues all over the field.”    “I know” ageed Scotty, “I like this metal cow sculpture, it’s sort of like they’re flying through the air. “

The kids took off  running  through the field trying to copy the poses of the statues. The family, including Zelda the dog, agreed the Field Gallery is an interesting and fun, and not a boring place to visit.  Don’t miss it when you’re on the Vineyard.

I'm married, I have two daughters and two grandchildren and they all love MV. Enjoy my MV blog and contact me if I can answer any questions. This blog started out as strictly about Martha's Vineyard but over the years I've branched out to include other obsessions and interests. I enjoy photography and like sharing my photos here as well. Hope you enjoy :)

  1. That looks like a fun place–for “kids” of all ages! I like the story caption!

  2. It’s funny. I’ve been going to the Field Gallery since the mid-70s and most of those outdoor pieces haven’t moved a bit. I didn’t have time to stop in when we were there a few weeks ago, though. Would love to have seen the the cows. Chris Morse used to have some smaller cow pieces over at the Granary Gallery.
