We’ve lived in this house for 34 years and now it’s time to move  onward.  Hopefully a new family will be as happy here as we have been…

I'm married, I have two daughters and two grandchildren and they all love MV. Enjoy my MV blog and contact me if I can answer any questions. This blog started out as strictly about Martha's Vineyard but over the years I've branched out to include other obsessions and interests. I enjoy photography and like sharing my photos here as well. Hope you enjoy :)

  1. Beautiful house.
Moving is so bittersweet. I can’t imagine how you feel after 34 years there…

  2. These photos are beautiful and just looking at them I am spilling over with emotion! You have the wonderful memories and it must be bittersweet as the previous friend stated! I’m thinking of you today. We all will be doing this sometime, whether now or later.

    Love, Judy

  3. Joan. You are ending a journey filled with the growing pains and memories of a family. They are grown and happily settled into their own lives. Your lovely home has leaves to rake and lawns to mow, driveways to shovel and plenty of upkeep. You will take your memories with you, leave behind the happy spirit of your family for the next family to absorb, and begin a new journey. Happy Moving Day, and have fun settling into your new home.
    Love, Anne

  4. Oh my, this is bittersweet. What a beautiful home, Joan, but I know you will take many loving memories with you.

    Hugs,
    Donna

  5. Joan, I too have felt quite emotional for you the past two months. And although I am sure this is a very difficult transition, I’m equally sure the love you share with your family and your friends is going to make it better.

Since I found Chappy, which has to be 5-6 years ago, I have felt a connection to Deb and her family and certainly to Chappy. My name was on that Boykin waiting list 2 years before I got my Sarah and Sophia. So I read her blog faithfully. Now that I’ve found yours I will ad yours to my must reads as well

My wish for you is that you are all happy, health, and wealthy in your new home.

    With lots of good wishes.

    Bonnie
