MV Obsession

My obsession with Martha's Vineyard.. phototography..genealogy and life in general and this and that…

Water, Water Everywhere …

Of course there’s water everywhere, it’s an Island, that’s one of the things they do best, be surrounded by water.  In my humble and unbiased opinion, Martha’s Vineyard has it all as far as water is concerned.

The cliffs at Aquinnah (Gay Head) are surrounded by rocky and treacherous waters.  The clay from the cliffs washes into the water and creates a blend of unusual beauty.

A view of Vineyard Sound and out to the Atlantic from a window of West Chop lighthouse.

Looking towards the Elizabeth Islands from Menemsha Hills Reservation.

Edgartown Harbor

  Oak Bluffs Harbor.

  Water on the rocks.

  Chappaquiddick kayaks.

Sunny or foggy… water, water everywhere.

I'm married, I have two daughters and two grandchildren and they all love MV. Enjoy my MV blog and contact me if I can answer any questions. This blog started out as strictly about Martha's Vineyard but over the years I've branched out to include other obsessions and interests. I enjoy photography and like sharing my photos here as well. Hope you enjoy :)

  1. Joanie: You fox! You know I NEED a copy of that picture out of my lighthouse tower. I’ve been reading all of these; I’ve just been busy, busy. I especially love the Chappy log and visiting the island from a doggy viewpoint. (What a smart doggie!) Hugs, seamond

  2. That photo of the kayaks on Chappy is beautiful!

  3. You take the best pictures of the Island I have seen. The picture of the ferry in the fog reminds me of the Nobska coming in to Oak Bluffs (the old wharf) on a foggy day when I was a kid. It came in at noon and you could hear the whistle all over town.
    Thanks for the pictures! Chris
